Mona Hosseiny is a second year Radio/Television/Film major at the University
of Texas at Austin, and she has been acting for 10 years and has "enjoyed
every minute of it".
Mona got her start in theatre in school productions and community theatre,
and signed with Linda McAlister in Dallas, Texas. Throughout her preteen
and teen years Mona was appearing in commercials and educational videos.
After she graduated high school in 2002, she moved to Austin for school and
soon after signed with Veronica Kelley at DVA Talent.
Mona has had many notable roles, and some of her favorites include
Marion in Woody Allen's "Don't Drink the Water", Eva in
"The Rimers of Eldritch", and Esther in "To Gillian on Her 37th
Birthday".
Recently, she appeared in "Friday Night Lights" with Billy Bob Thorton, as
well as performing as the voice of a Cairo school girl in the hit new
Playstation 2 game, "Deus Ex 2". Mona trained with acclaimed teachers
such as Linda Seto (Dallas Young Actors Studio), John Lansch (Austin), and
Step Rowe (Austin).
Mona also exercises her talents by making her own short movies, writing
poetry and plays, writing jokes and performing as a stand-up comedian. She
also enjoys listening to music, playing the electric guitar, dancing, and
singing. She is currently working on a semi-autobiographical comedic play
about Iranian American teenagers living with their parents in the suburbs.
Mona is a tremendously professional individual, dedicated to her art. As an
actor, she is easy to direct and a joy to work with. She brought a level of
enthusiasm and professionalism to the recording of The Passover that was
contagious.
Mona would like to thank her loving family and friends for giving her joy
and continued support. Thanks to Dennis too!
